split air conditioning 10 day installation courses, anyone done them?

are the worthwhile courses for gaining good ground knowledge to get a trainee position etc? any comments from someone whos done it or knows someone who has, would be helpful

1. Nothing beats experience but getting there is the hard part. Take the 10 day course CAN get your foot in the door, but YOU have to make your own good luck. A neighbor's son did it, but he had to beat the bushes for the opportunity to prove his worth and desire. He paid his dues and now is really doing well. He made his luck by visiting every HVAC contractor and vendor for miles around. In fact, he visited the ones he liked more than once. Had some business cards made that he handed out everywhere. One evening, he got the call -- BINGO!
