How much would it cost to add central air conditioning to a 1000 to 1500 square foot home in So California?

I am looking to buy a home and would like to see how much central air would cost if the house did not come with it already.

1. i think it would cost about $500.
2. It would probably be around $3000 or more. I'm in Fl and we paid $2500 for ours 3yrs ago. Our house is 1200sq ft.
3. Depends on if it already has working central heat, with good, up to code and up to date venting ducts, etc.. To add mine on last year cost around $6,000.00 (1500 s.f.), but I had completely re-done the heating system (from the ground up) a little less than three years earlier. If any of the ducting or primary central heating system is sub-par or needs replacement, then it may cost more.
4. Souther Cal? Probably about 4 million... No seriously.. you are looking at around 3-5k would be my guess.
