Why is the American public being manipulated into nearly stopping all travel and heating and air conditioning?

What is the ulltimate goal of our government and investment banking? Is it to get us to pay for the war and the losses of the subprime crisis through energy and food costs? Isn't this like an unwritten tax, only more severe to the middle class?

  1. I doubt our government has any real role in the crises. Hell, I dont think banks do either! Food and energy are scarce, hence the price is bound to increase.
  2. you're not being manipulated, you are simply victim of those whom you elected. Deny force and you won't be a victim.
  3. Yes Foxhole- since you have a lot of time on your hands, can you make the list for Bush, it might take a couple of weeks. Don't bother with McCain he has been lying for so long you would run out of time.
  4. Yes it is. The government is profiting from the high cost of gasoline and food and everything else we consume and pay taxes on. The state governments are raking in the cash also. The higher the price the more they make in tax revenue. We are cattle being led to the slaughter. We need new leadership at all levels...vote all the incumbents out of office.
  5. They are not. Making responsible and sustainable choices is necessary in every life. REPORT THE LIST OF LIES, IT'S SPAM
  6. You hit the nail on the head. It's simply a ploy for the rich to get richer, make the middle-class poor, and the poor to become poorer, or non-existent. They realize that the job market is getting slimmer, and if we cannot afford to put gas in the car, we can't get back and forth to work, and they can justify the loss of jobs, saying they are really saving us money in the long run. I know this is the Bush mentality, and I'm pretty sure that's what he's thinking. We need to do something, we cannot wait around for the government to do it for us. We need to think of something that we can all agree on, to make our voices heard. Maybe people need to start filing lawsuits against the oil companies, for taking our livelyhoods away from us. That they are keeping us from our pursuit of happiness, our liberty to move about as we wish, and our lives as we know them.
