What should i set my wall mounted air conditioner to? what is the Exhaust setting for?
I live in an apartment and the wall mounted air conditioning has a setting called Exhaust. It can either be open or closed. When i set "closed" i can hear a flap like shutting, but i dont know if im shutting out the hot air from outside or shutting the A/C thats coming in. Should i have it open or closed, what will make the room cooler?

- If some one has smoked inside the A/C room *you open the Exhaust to let the smoke be exhaust out of the room gradually, or to remove any oder smell. after the smell or the smoke is cleared you can close. This is the only propose Exhaust in Air conditioners. when the the air is ON and if Exhaust is open only the cool air is sent out ( a very small amount of cooling goes out ) *This can be helpfully to even cool the compressor if the ambient temp is high. Out side air will enter only when you air conditioner is in off position.
