how to repair 1985 Lincoln Continental air conditioning?
It only blows hot defrost. climate control not working at all. Have no book.

- you wil need to recharge the system, purchase a r12 to r34 retro fit system from a auto parts store. follow the instructions. more then likely you will need to by pass the compressor,so that it will run while the freon is being sucked into the system. do not over charge the system, and if you dont get cool air , you need repairs

- The vacuum to the dash is the first problem. Get that fixed and you should have all the airflow positions back. That older system was the first generation atc, and used a temp. sensor under the dash pad to control the a/c function. It also used a vacuum servo to control the blend door. Thus it is possible, that by repairing the vacuum supply line to the dash, that it all may start working like it should. As long as the a/c system under the hood still functions, that is. But that is where to begin, and good luck!!
