What is a better HVAC unit Rheem or Trane?

I have a chove betweem installing a Rheem or a Trane HVAC unit for my home. 3.5 ton heat pump. What is the better choice ?- price is approx. the same

  1. Trane has been around for a lot of years. I worked on Trane compressers back in the early 60s. So that tells me alot about trane.

  3. The Rheem is the better choice. For some reason the Trane units loose about 20% of their rated capacity in the heat mode. The 3.5 ton will give you 42000 BTU cooling but only about 35000 heating. The Rheem will give you a lot better heating performance and equal cooling performance as compared to the Trane. The Rheem should also have both hi and lo pressure switches from the factory. You can't begin to understand how important these 2 little items can be. Be sure to get the Rheem 10 year parts and labor warranty! I would also opt for an Air Bear or April Air 5000 air cleaner.
