What is the HVAC in the air conditioning companies stad for? I asked 3 a/c guys that worked for big a/c places in Vegas while I was in a refrigeration parts company and none of them knew what it stood for. It is funny how things get named and then people forget or never learn why...
About eight or ten years ago, almost all air conditioning companies were advertising their "duct cleaning service." I never hear anything about duct cleaning these days. About nine years ago, I had my AC unit replaced, and while it was disconnected from the tubing, I looked inside. I saw absolutely nothing that needed an expensive cleaning! Was the "duct cleaning" thing just scam? Is it really necessary? If so, why is it not advertised any more?

Who should I call to install an exhaust fan in my bathroom? And electrician or an air conditioning company? We desperately need an exhaust fan installed in our upstairs bathroom. There is one tiny window, which is not enough to expel all of the moisture (esp. living in FL!)... and no air conditioning vent. If you knew about an air conditioning repair company in NJ that was cheap and reliable would you use them? Browns Heating & Cooling was the best experience for a NJ AC repair company I've ever had. They came to help last week, after I was referred to them, and they not only explained things (when I asked) thoroughly, they fixed the problem, told me how to deal with issues in the future without having to spend money, and were extremely well priced. Can anyone recommend a good air conditioning repair company in Miami? The a/c appears to be leaking freon? The split A/c is not cooling. I called a tech and he changed a capacitor, charged freon and left. It worked fine for 3 days after that once again it stopped cooling. He did not check for leaks - simply said the unit needs to be replaced.

What type of attorney do I need to sue a heating and air conditioning company for defrauding me? I had a Heating and Air company come out last December to check on my furnance. They said I needed a new one and we agreed to purchase one. They butchered the install badly and have now installed it three more times and it still has too high of a temp rise and it's noisy. We had another company in to look at it and they said that our duct work is too small for the furnance they installed. Now they want to put holes in our floor hoping that will fix it. We have regsiters in the walls now. I'm tired of dealing with them. The other companies said they would have told me I had to replace my ducting before they would have sold me a new furnace. If I had been told that initially, I would have chosen to repair my old furnace. It's been almost 90 days. I just don't know what type of attorney to contact. Thanks,

How much should air conditioning repair cost? I have 2 units for my home: One is 2.5 tons the other is 4 tons. The capacitor in my 2.5 ton unit went out. A friend of the family who works for an air conditioning company replaced the capacitor and recharged the unit. He charged me $200 and I gave him an extra 10 spot. I live in Central Florida and its 92 degrees but the "feels like" temp is 101. I have my central air set at 68 degrees but my house won't get any cooler then 76 degrees. I am wondering if its not cooling because my unit is about 15 years old as well as the fact that I just had a duct placed in my garage by a air conditioning company. How much does it cost to replace the copper pipe (and freon) in an air conditioning unit? Some as* stole the copper pipe that connects my air conditioning unit to my house. I have called a ton of companies and they must be really busy bc only one called me back and provided a quote - but it seems really high - $1,300. Do lemon laws cover items such as home air conditioning units? My Mom purchased a new home air conditioning unit, a Trane, about a year and a half ago. But, she has had to spend atleast $500 every other month the past year to have it fixed. The company that installed it and has been servicing it, Snyder, has yet to be able to fix the problem. Everytime they come out they say that it's fixed but it only breaks again within a month or two. Does anyone know of any lemon laws(state of Florida) that are applicable to this situation?
