Air-conditioning service and fuel injection service? I have my 14 month old car booked in for a 20,000km service at the dealer tomorrow. They charge $100 more than my previous mechanic for a Nissan Micra, but I go there to keep the warranty. I had a phone call today from the service centre recommending I have a fuel injection service and an air-conditioning service, at a cost of an extra $210. I said no thanks, but was wondering if these things are really necessary? Are they just trying to rip me off?

One is able to receive instructions in the owner's manual for servicing and maintaining the coolant system, but they do not include details on maintaining your air conditioning unit. I own a Ford Focus 1.8 petrol (1999 with 78k) and the air conditioning system has never been serviced as far as I know although I do use it for at least 30 minutes per month. How should I service my air conditioning unit? water sometimes backs up and my unit turns off. I have to shoot water into the PVC pipe outside and suck it out to get it going again. Are you supposed to put bleach or something else in the PVC pipe?

2001 Taurus Air Conditioning system leaking oil? I just had my 2001 Ford Taurus in the shop yesterday to service the air conditioning system. Diagnostics revealed that I needed the leaky accumulator (hose?) assembly replaced. The good news is that it blows very cold air now. Bad news is I've noticed a leak near the area where the work was done. (the smaller tube assembly underneath the larger running the length of the engine compartment). The leak is light brown and slightly oily. It's leaving spots in the driveway. Could this leak also be from the AC system? Does the AC system for the Taurus have oil?

Air Conditioning? a technician came to repair my aircon which was not working. He managed to get it to work and said he will be back the next day to service it. When he came the next day and started work on it, the compressor gave way and that was the end of the aircon. He is now not accepting the fault and says it is solely the problem of the compressor. Air conditioning broke. The fan will seem to run but the air comes out and is not cold. Any idea what is wrong I just hate to pay for a service man to come out and look at it if it is something simple we can fix ourselves. When I turn it on it makes a "klunk" nose like it is trying to click on but it doesn't. It sounds as though a fan is running inside but the fan on the unit is not moving.

How much should a replacement central air conditioning unit cost in the DC area? We have a 14-year old central air conditioning unit that is leaking refrigerant, making the coils freeze up. Our HVAC service company has quoted us $3200 to replace the current unit with a 2.5 ton, 13 SEER system from Trane. We're in Montgomery County, MD. Is this price high? I have an Oldsmobile Delta 88 how can I discharge the old air conditioning system without it blowing up or? I bought a refridgerant kit to convert my r12 system to a 134a, then I find out that I have to have the r12 discharged by a shop. It kinda defeats the purpose of doing it myself. I want to avoid the whole go to a service station wait all day and then over pay for it, on top of here about all the parts that supposably are needed. But, she has had to spend atleast $500 every other month the past year to have it fixed. The company that installed it and has been servicing it, Snyder, has yet to be able to fix the problem. What is causing air conditioning unit to blow out warm air and make a loud humming noise? I am hoping that we can avoid the expense of a service repair person. The filters are changed monthly. The air will come in absolutely freezing cold. Then it shuts down and blows in very warm air for hours. We shut it down for about an hour, then when we restarted it, it blew in hot warm air making a loud humming. The humming stopped, then very cold hair started to come in for about half an hour. I am wondering is this something that we can correct ourselves.
Renault Clio Service light on and heater/air con not working? I have a 2004 clio with 32800 miles on the clock. The service light has just come on (service not due until 36000) and also the heater/air conditioning unit will not turn on at all. Could it be a fuse or something more serious? My central air conditioning unit has stopped working? My central air conditioning unit has stopped working. The furnace is blowing regular air. The fan is not turning. I have checked the circuit breaker and it's fine. I turned off power and turned it back on. I called Sears for service they said it would be $93 to send someone out!!! Presently we are using environment friendly freon, when you are refilling freon in a compressor, pl ensure that old types are not getting filled in the systems manufactured after 2002, because old freons will damage working of your system. Although refilling couplers are different, pl take care while filling somewhere other than service station.

A friend of the family who works for an air conditioning company replaced the capacitor and recharged the unit. He charged me $200 and I gave him an extra 10 spot.
