Stinky smell from ductless air conditioner? I have one of the Mitsubitshi Mr Slim (ductless split conditioner) units installed in my bedroom. The problem is that it emits a mildewy / foul smell when I leave it to run on "fan mode". It does not emit stinky air though when I put it on low temperatures (which involves the compressor running). I wonder what is the reason for that, and how I can get rid of that smell once and for all. Please help and thank you!

The mini split ac's come precharged with freon. this allows one to just install the unit, and connect the lines. it states to purge, or evacuate the system after the lines are connected. the only air would be from the actual 15' lines that were connected. will the ac run good without be purged or evacuated? this ductless system is new, and ive heard people installing them without fancy equipment. id like to know if i can get good cooling, without the hvac tools. what do you guys think?

Can I adapt my mobile home 110v wiring to run a 220v ductless Air Conditioner? Killer deal on a Mitsubishi Mr Slim Air Conditioner (18K BTU) in the box...but I have a mobile home with a (100 amp) 110v circuit at the drop. Is it possible to change the existing wiring to use the 220v A/C?

How easy is it to install a ductless air conditioner? I have a one bedroom apartment and the window unit does not cool my apartment off enough (it's in the livingroom and I'm on the second floor). I can't get the windows open in my room so I thought about a split (ventless) ac unit. I can't seem to find a clear answer on the installation. I've read a three inch hole needs to be drilled for one but I don't know if I can just do the lines separately (power, cooling, etc.) so I don't have to drill holes (could I run it under the door?). I live in Tampa, Florida and I've had a heck of a time even finding a unit as well. Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated and I don't plan on moving somewhere else, so that's out of the question.

Buzzing noise from my Ductless Air Conditioner? I have a tri-zone ductless a/c unit from Friedrich. This unit is new and I need some help on this because the people who installed it says it is like that. First off is since this is a ductless unit the compressor is outside there for the buzzing noise should not be the compressor issue. I was told by the guy who installed it saying it is the water pump that is making the noise. The buzzing noise is not always on. Only when I turn the a/c on for about 15 - 20 the it will start buzzing like draining something. then it stops after about 30 sec or so. then after another 15-20 then it buzzes again. Can someone please shed some light on this for me? What can cause this buzzing? I feel it is something they did not remove or did not secure properly. All 3 units buzz in the same way. I really hope someone can help me on this. PLEASE HELP!
